Celebrating Our Growth Together! 2024-2025 Consortium Annual Report

When we launched the Upper & Middle James Riparian Consortium (Consortium) in 2019, we had no idea how much it would grow, how much fun we’d have along the way, or how great of an impact we’d make together. This year, we reached major milestones: more than 1,200 acres of riparian forest buffer have now been restored through the James River Buffer Program (JRBP) and our Consortium has grown to over 700 members! In 2025 we rolled out a new Action Plan that includes several themes, including one focused on collaboration and knowledge sharing within and beyond the James River watershed.

Large scale collaboratives like the Consortium are the perfect place to be innovative and try new things. When new programs are successful, they can be replicated in other areas to expand the impact. It’s been really inspiring to see this happen, especially witnessing the generosity of partners in sharing their “secret sauce” to help others build on these successes. – Amber Ellis, Consortium Convener

Learn more about these successes and more in our 2024-2025 Consortium Annual Report. We look forward to continuing this work with each of you this year!
