Camp Mont Shenandoah is a rustic gem on the beautiful Cowpasture River in Bath County. It’s a perfect place to meet with colleagues, share information and inspiration, and reinvigorate our efforts to restore Virginia’s riparian areas. It’s also perfect for some paddling fun after the meeting! See agenda and map below.
September 18th Schedule
9:30am -11:30am: Come early and explore the Camp Mont Shenandoah on your own. (Consortium Steering Committee Meeting from 10:00-11:30am)
12:00 – 12:30pm: Lunch
12:30 – 2:00pm: General Consortium Meeting
- Welcome and introductions
- Presentations centering workforce development
- Small group discussion time
2:00 – 4:00pm: Connect, gather, and learn with fellow Consortium members
- Riparian Wetlands Conservation Project Field with Mike Hayslett: Visit a recently completed riparian wetlands conservation project and learn about the restored hydrology to a bottomland forest and the complex of 10 installed vernal pools.
- Paddle the Cowpasture River: Paddle upriver from the Camp’s river access and float back down.
- Gather with partners along the Cowpasture: Bask in the river views, explore Camp Mont Shenandoah, and enjoy eachother’s company!
